About WHTC
Origin Story
In the rise of the tech industry during the early 2000s, there were disproportionate advantages and opportunities given to men. Recognizing this, female members of Congress, especially those from Silicon Valley, called for an alliance of women in tech to create a solution to the issue at hand. As a response, WHTC was born.
The beginning chapters of WHTC were created with the goal of fostering networking opportunities and providing speaking platforms to women in tech, while simultaneously educating people on the critical need for the inter-connection of policy decisions in Washington DC.
The Women’s High Tech Coalition continues to work with Members of Congress, associations, and corporations to provide networking and growth opportunities for women in the tech space. This exchange of ideas among key policymakers and voices of the industry is crucial as the world of technology evolves.
