Membership Guidelines

The WHTC strives to connect professional women involved in any facet of the IT, high-tech, and ecommerce worlds, including related regulatory and legislative policy issues, so that women can help each other thrive and advance in this evolving industry.  The WHTC provides opportunities for networking, education, and meeting decision makers.

Privacy Statement

The Women’s High-Tech Coalition will not trade, sell, or share a member’s personal information for use by any business or organization without the member’s consent, unless required by law. A member’s personal information will be stored in the Women’s High-Tech Coalition database, which is located in the United States.

Membership Eligibility and Sponsorship

All prospective members shall have one (1) sponsor from the WHTC existing membership list. To be eligible, a prospective member shall be a professional with primary technical or policy responsibility in the areas of high-tech, IP, e-commerce, or another technology-related field; or be responsible for policy development related to technology in a congressional position, as part of the Executive Branch, in a regulatory agency with responsibility for oversight and supervision, or at the state or municipal government levels.

Types of Membership

Private Sector

A private sector member should have a professional position in a company which engages in the delivery of technology-related goods or services. A purely technical background is not a pre-requisite, but association with and understanding of the high-tech, ecommerce and IP nature of the individual business will be an important element of the decision. The geographic location of the company is not a limitation, as WHTC’s goal is the establishment of various Chapters of the Coalition — first in the United States and then in specific areas internationally.  Private sector members may also be employed by trade associations that represent tech companies.

Public Sector

A public sector member must have responsibility for developing and/or advising on issues related to the industry sectors of technology-related, e-commerce, telecommunications or IP. The individual may be an employee of the U.S. Congress, a University, foundation, embassy or any Executive Branch or regulatory agency of the U.S. Government.

Membership Dues

1. Dues

Dues and event fees for all members shall be established by the Board of Directors. Dues for private sector members are $150 per year. Public sector member dues are $40 per year.

2. Delinquency and Cancellation

Any member of the Women’s High-Tech Coalition who shall be delinquent in dues for a period of sixty (60) days from the time dues become due shall be notified of such delinquency and given an additional 30-day grace period. If payment of dues is not made within the next succeeding thirty (30) days, the delinquent member shall immediately make payment or be dropped from the membership rolls, forfeiting all rights and privileges of membership. Members who have been dropped from the membership rolls for delinquency of payment may re-apply for membership after six (6) months.

3. Refunds

Dues shall not be refunded to any member whose membership may have to be terminated. Additionally, luncheon and other event fees will not be refunded due to failure to attend.

If you have any questions, please contact the WHTC. Thank you for your support.
